Cabo Corrientes

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

Just a few minutes to the south of Puerto Vallarta you will find desert beaches, tiny villages and tons of untouched tropical nature. In the picture below you can see a panorama of Yelapa, a tiny fishing village.

Next picture shows Los Arcos, a popular snorkeling area with Puerto Vallarta in the background.

San Pancho is a miniature town, you could almost think it’s abandoned. The main plaza had not one single soul near it. But shortly after arriving at the beach I could understand why: The beach is BEAUTIFUL. The few souls that are at the beach you could count on one hand. We sat at El Brujo restaurant, it was very nice and quiet. Too bad Mexican Law prohibits the sale of any alcoholic drink (even to foreigners) when there’s election day, which is kinda weird since everybody buys tons of alcohol the day before, so it’s not illegal to get really drunk but you can’t purchase this Good. Now we know ;)

Birdwatching in Vallarta

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

A tropical storm south of Banderas Bay could develop into the hurricane Andrés, heading towards the southern part of the Bay. This entire Tuesday has been extremely cloudy; we’ll see how the weather develops in the next 24 hours.

Here are some pictures of the “Segundo Concierto Ecologico de Vallarta” (Second Ecological Concert of Vallarta) organized by Vallarta Verde (Green Vallarta). We did show up a bit late, but even at night we were still able to take some good shots of the ambient. If we find some day-light pictures, we will update this post.
